Water Wise Landscape Tour 2024
"I wish to invite the Vickery Place neighbors to consider participating in the 30th Water-Wise Landscape Tour. This long-standing program has been sponsored and promoted by Dallas Water Utilities and now through the Water Conservation Division of OEQS for 30 years.
Its free and easy to submit your landscape and with this good rain we are having, everything will definitely turn green again quickly. We have a great line-up of commemorative gifts for this year’s winners and participants and some special surprises at the White Rock Pump Station on tour day, which is Saturday, October 19. If you have any questions, please let me know."

Pet of the Month - Meet Mujo!
This month's VPNA Pet of the Month is Mujo! Mujo will be receiving a generous gift basket custom curated just for them from our neighbor Dr. Benjamin Wright & his team at Lakewood Vet Center.
Say hello to Mujo, our delightful Pet of the Month! Born on Halloween in 2021, Mujo was adopted by his loving owners, Laura and Wes, just after Christmas. This spirited pup has a unique lineage, with parents from Costa Rica—Coffee and Blanca—making him 50% super mutt and 50% a mix of bloodhound, beagle, and blutick coonhound.
Mujo started life as a rambunctious puppy, but thanks to expert training at What A Great Dog in Richardson and Frisco, he’s grown into a well-behaved and skilled companion. He’s completed Manners Levels 1-3 and even advanced in Barn Hunt Levels 1 and 2, where he honed his rat-hunting skills!
Mujo’s favorite activities include golf cart rides around the neighborhood, hiking, and playing hide and seek. He also loves searching for treats hidden inside plastic Easter eggs scattered throughout the house. He’s incredibly treat-motivated, and his favorite recall word is "touch."
Keep an eye out for Mujo on your next golf cart ride or neighborhood stroll—he's sure to bring a smile to your face!

September Yard of the Month - 5229 Willis Ave.
For this month’s Vickery Place Yard of the Month, we're thrilled to spotlight the stunning outdoor space of Vince Coreil and Amie Hughes at 5229 Willis that they have called home for seven years. This dynamic couple, who moved to Vickery Place from UptownDallas, enjoys the tranquility of empty-nesting with their dog and cat in their beautiful retreat.
Their front yard’s sleek modern look beautifully transitions into a cohesive, sophisticated design that captures both style and serenity. Water features in front and back and shade loving plants like Japanese aralias, yews and purple hearts further enhance this tranquil escape.
Their passion for art and sculpture is evident throughout, blending seamlessly with their modern aesthetic. After a year-long project adding an ADU, their backyard now boasts a serene oasis complete with shaded seating, a private hot tub nook, and 17 graceful Japanese maples shading the entire lot.
Congratulations to Amy and Vince! And we thank North Haven Gardens for generously sponsoring VPNA’s Yard of the Month initiative by awarding our winners with a $50 gift card.
